The following topics are covered below:
(Click on any of the above links to go directly to that Topic)
1. The Website Design process
Following an initial discussion with our potential client regarding their requirements we would provide a Budgetary price quotation for developing their website. This price would be based on the number of pages within the website, and would include the price of a Website address (Domain Name) and the cost of Hosting the website on an annual basis.

If the client decides to proceed, then we would follow the process outlined below in the Flow Diagram:
A more detailed discussion will take place with the client to allow the development of a Website Specification to ensure a clear understanding of the requirements is agreed.
A firm Quotation will be provided to the client based on the requirements of the detailed Specification. This would not be expected to be significantly different from the budgetary quotation unless the the client had introduced some significant changes and additions.
Before commencing the design of the website, the client would choose a Website address or Domain Name. E1C can advise and assist in this process. Having chosen a Domain Name E1C will Register this name on behalf of the client.
Following the Registration of the Domain Name, the design of the website page templates will commence. The final template design will be submitted to the client for approval before commencing the development of the page content.
The content of each page of the website will be developed with clear input, text and descriptions supplied by the client. Any photography required can be supplied by the client or provided by E1C at an additional cost.
Once the final draft of the website is complete, it will be submitted to the client for approval. The client will see the website exactly as it will appear on the Internet. Any final adjustments will be implemented.
The final step before the website can 'Go Live' will be for E1C to arrange a Hosting platform where the website will reside and be accessible via the Internet.
2. Domain Names (Website addresses)
For your website to be visible on the Internet your site needs a Domain Name or Website address such as www.enterprise1consulting.co.uk. E1C will assist the client to choose an appropriate Domain Name.

In choosing a Domain Name it is important to check that any desired name has not already been registered by another organisation. Again, E1C will assist with this checking.

There are a number of Domain Name options but the most common endings are '.co.uk' or '.com' for UK Businesses. For Clubs and Societies, the '.org.uk' is an option. For personal websites there are the '.me.uk' option, or of course, the '.co.uk' or '.com'.

There is very little difference in the price of the Domain Names although the '.com' endings are normally more expensive. To retain possession of a Domain Name an annual charge is payable to the Central Domain Name Registry service. E1C can manage this on behalf of their clients. See the 'Pricing' page for the range of pricing for Domain Names.
3. Website Hosting
For your website to be accessible and visible on the Internet, it is necessary for the webpages to reside on a 'Hosting Server'. Again, E1C will arrange this Hosting on behalf of the client.

There is an annual charge for this Hosting Service and for the website to remain live on the Internet, this Hosting must be renewed each year. E1C can manage this on behalf of their clients. See the 'Pricing' page for more information on the range of pricing for Hosting Services.
4. E-mail addresses
Once a Domain Name has been Registered and a Hosting package has been purchased, the client will be provided with their own e-mail addresses that can be used in conjunction with their website.

Depending on the Hosting package purchased there would normally be between 5 and 10 e-mail addresses provided. These e-mail addresses can take the form of 'anything@website-address.com' or 'anything@website-address.co.uk' etc. etc. Where 'website-address' is your Domain Name.

So, for example, you could have 'enquiries@website-address.com' or 'info@website-address.com' or 'sales@website-address.com' .

E1C will agree with the client on their choice of e-mail addresses and set them up accordingly.
5. E-commerce (Web Sales)
E1C can develop the clients website to include the ability to transact Internet selling of products. This is commonly referred to as 'E-commerce' or 'Web sales'. This feature allows the processing of Credit/Debit card payments or alternatively, payments via 'Paypal' Online via your website.

The implementation of 'Web Sales' functionality in a website adds more complexity and there would normally be an additional charge for this feature. See 'Pricing' page.
6. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Once your website is 'Live' the most important factor in it's success is the ability of Internet users to be able to find it amongst all the millions of other websites accessible via the Internet !!!

E1C will provide as part of it's Website Design Service the Search Engine Optimisation functionality embedded within each Website that we Design. This will assist in getting the highest possible rankings in Search Engines such as Google.

We will also provide the ability to view statistics on the traffic activity to the website.

7. Content Editing
Many website owners need to be able to update their webpages quickly with up to date news or information. E1C can provide the facility for clients to be able to easily edit pages of their website themselves from their own PC browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.  You can amend text, add images, add hyperlinks.  You can format text areas as you would in Microsoft Word by adding bullet points, bold type face, underlining, changing text colours etc. etc.
